NSW Health Awards
The first NSW Health Awards were held in 1999. Since this time they have grown in scope and prestige.
This year two new award categories have been added, with the most recent addition being the new Mental Health Award which will recognise and showcase the significant efforts of clinicians and managers in improving the quality and safety of mental health patient care and to encourage innovation and improved practice.
The other additional award is the new Harry Collins Award, sponsored by the NSW Health Quality and Safety Branch, which will recognise programs underway to reduce healthcare associated infections (HAIs). This Award commemorates the life and work of Mr Harry Collins OAM, a consumer with a passion for improving the quality of care through reduction of HAIs.
This year 173 entries were received across 9 categories.
60 judges selected from across the health system including representatives from NGO’s, universities, public and private sector and the community were involved in judging the 2009 NSW Health Awards.
Award winners will be published here very shortly
