2009 NSW Health Awards and Expo
Welcome to the 2009 NSW Health Awards and Expo - celebrating innovation, excellence and teamwork.
The Annual NSW Health Expo and Awards Ceremony are on the 30th October 2009 at the Australian Technology Park (ATP), Redfern. The Awards provide a great opportunity to showcase how we are improving the quality of care for patients journeying through our health system, the health of our population and recognise high levels of performance by our health services and hospitals.
2009 will again feature Health Improvement and Patient Care Award categories based on the Strategic Directions of NSW Health. Performance Awards will be presented in both Health Services and Hospitals categories. The Clinical Excellence Commission Award for Improvement in Patient Safety will again be a highlight for the third consecutive year.
A new Harry Collins Award, sponsored by the NSW Health Quality and Safety Branch, will recognise programs underway to reduce healthcare associated infections (HAIs). This Award commemorates the life and work of Mr Harry Collins OAM, a consumer with a passion for improving the quality of care through reduction of HAIs.
Note that entry criteria have been significantly updated since last year, so it is important to carefully examine the material on this website, particularly the Notice, Requirements and Entry Categories document. To be eligible, your entry must be submitted through your Awards Liaison Officer, who can advise you of the local closing date set by your Health Service. All entries close Friday 31 July 2009.
Please promote the 2009 Awards and Expo to your colleagues to celebrate the achievements of teams and their dynamic developments improving patient care and the health of the population in NSW.
I look forward to a high standard of entries from all Health Services in 2009 and offer my best wishes to all the teams.
